    traulsen help

On all traulsen coolers that i service there is a phone jack like port on the black relay controller box mounted on top. I was reading in one of the manuals for them and its said that there is software available to program the units. and see diagnostics present. I searched all over the net, Called Hobart and they were talking to me like a idiot. well if any one knows of who caries it please let me know.

I am curious what you're up to Why don't you call Traulsen direct instead of Hobart? The number is on a sticker by the name plate. I believe everything but the type of unit can be programed through the key pad on the front if you know the codes

I think the phone jack is where you plug in to get a direct line to technical support.

I know they both used to be owned by ITW before they closed Hobart refrigeration, but when you call about cooking equipment now who do the calls go to (Traulsen TX)? I don't work on the hot side.

Since there is no mention in your profile that you are in the trade I cannot help you. I was an Auth.Traulsen dealer, but do not need to offend the powers to be.

Talking to Trauslen was helpful in my case. They even faxed the instructions to me all 35 pages. The number I called was 1-800-825-8220 I talked with Lewie there.
I replaced one of those Intela-traul and relay boxs last year on a R/I. 5yr old unit I didn't see that jack on the relay box, but mine was a R/A series.

It is a RS485 port available as a means of retrieving information from the stored data .72 hours is stored such as alarms, door open cycles , defrost cycles and records cabinet air temp every 6 minutes needed to document DUE DILIGENCE in accordance with HAACP standards.

i dont get it. traulsen is such a well made box why did they have to put a bunch of sensors and fancy relays on it. . . . OH WAIT, I KNOW. . . .

    ENGINEERS!!!

I wish they would go back to mechanical controls, allot more reliable in my humble opinion
