Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
I had a customer who had added a porch on the back of his house and the edge of the roof was over top of the HP with no gutters. We got a lot of rain and the HP froze up. He tried to knock the ice off with a hammer and screw driver. Knocked a hole right through the copper. I went to check the unit and the whole inside of the unit was a solid block of ice, it took 3 months for the ice to thaw.

LOL, one of the manager at a BK tried breaking ice off of a walkin freezer evap coil with a screwdriver, but just happen that I was going to that store and saw him try to do this. I yell at him to stop, he looked at me like what did I do wrong? I said you about to do some major damage if you didn't yet. I looked at it and see where he bend some fins on it. I told him just use hot water on it when the unit it turned off. I flawed it out with the hot water since I found the defrost timer wasn't working correctly.
