I gave this gentleman an estimate a couple weeks ago. He has been a customer for several years and has a few rentals NONE of which are a joy to work on. But he called yesterday and said he had a new system installed and "he thought it was to loud" and wanted me to come look at it and see what I could do.
I'm curious as to how I lost this job and asked him what he had purchased. He was calling from his cell phone and he asked the guy riding with him "what brand furnace did you put in my house?" Neither on of them knew.
Now I'm a tad bit irritated, yet oddly curious, so I agreed to come look at it today.
It's a TUE1D120A9601A with a 24x8 return air drop tied into a 16x25 rack on the back of the furnace (couldn't get pictures the water heater is in the way).....I looked at it for about 3 minutes in silence. Took my phone out snapped a few pics of the fine craftsmanship and told him "it is what is" explained why it was so noisy, why it cycled so often, and suggested he call the person back who installed it.
PS: Sorry for the picture quality my phone was on the wrong setting

Must have been looking to unload some extra elbows he had on his truck.

is the angle of the camera off or is that flue form the water heater going down
Call the gas company and local code officials. That is unsafe.
Perhaps you should have read the instructions before calling.
He got what he paid for...
I don't know what to say! I guess there is not enough differant symbles on the key board. Is that B vent on the ID blower crooked or am I seeing wronge? Was it leaking? GD!!!
Hey Billy Bob it says here to connect the inducer motor to the b vent with a chimney but i didnt bring any bricks or mortar maybe we can use all those extra elbows in the back of your truck and just screw them to that fancy motor on the top of that fancy new furnace we bought off that guy in the parking lot at the flea market down at pawnee and meridian.
Yeah I used to live there and glad I left 12 years ago. Funny thing is no matter where we go we will always have hack "Maintenance Guys" out there doing it "cheaper and just as good as a furnace contractor". Sbhould have called the right guy in the first place, and repeat customer or not you should have charged him for spending the 3 minutes looking at it, at least an hour service call.
And you were right, IT IS WHAT IT IS and call the installer.
