Paloma Instant Water Heater
Is anyone familiar with Paloma instant water heaters. I found one with a frozen water coil. The OD temp was about 3 degrees. According to the Users Manual the freeze protection on the unit was only good to 4 degrees, Lower than that you are supposed to drain the unit. Thats a little rediculous if you ask me. Sorry its 2 degrees outside today, you can't take a shower. But anyways I wanted to check the electric heater, and the freeze protection t-stat on the unit, but I don't know where they are in the unit. There is a thin sheet of plastic in front of the coil that looks like it might be the electric heater, but im not possitive. Has anyone ran into this problem before? Thanks for any help.

I don't know much about water heaters but Paloma, I believe, is the largest water heater company in the world. Paloma also owns Rheem Manufacturing company which makes water heaters as well as Rheem, Ruud and Weatherking HVAC systems.
Point being, Paloma is an upstanding large company.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cureEcclesiastes 10:2 NIV

You get what you paid for. The builder saved money installing that 'type' of HWH.

But I wouldn't mount anything outdoors if it gets that cold.
