VMA 1420: Unable to define AI-4 for the Side Loop input

I am working (actually beating my head in) with HVAC PRO Version 8.07

I have successfully configured and started up a 1420 VMA as Single Duct with box reheat.

I also have an additional, non related, reheat coil and valve in a different area.

    I have:
AO-1 Analog 0-10VDC box heating valve
AO-2 Analog 0-10VDC separate room heating valve

    AI-1 TE-6700 series Zone Temp Sensor w/
AI-2 as the Warm Cool Adjust
    AI-3 Unused side loop input
    AI-4 TE-6700 series Room Sensor

The problem is I can not change the side loop input form AI-3 to AI-4?

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance

AI-3 can only be used for 0-10vdc devices, and AI-4 can only be an RTD.

Just leave the zone sensor on AI-4. If you need add another RTD for box discharge temp, you will have to buy a device that gives a 0-10 signal output with the RTD input. Kele makes a device that works

"Sideloops" in VMAs are a different animal than other ASC's. you have to do it in the QA. That will be the place to try to do what you want. It may/may not be possible.

IN your Q/A the last question, "seperate control loop" answer yes and select AI to AO. Then go to your inputs, delete AI-4 by opening up the point. Go into your AI-3 called "side loop input" change the AI number from 3 to 4. change the setup to your nickle F or whatever sensor your using. Go into your Params and at the bottom is your sideloop settings.

You can move any auto assigned AI/BI/BO/AO but where your moving it to must not be used already.

You can change the software but the VMA hardware only supports 0-10vdc on AI-3.

    From the JCI Manual:
Sideloop (humidity, dew point) (for 1410, 1420, 1430) or Static Pressure (for 1440) AI-3 0-16 VDC

Supply Air Temperature or Supplemental Heat Temperature
    AI-4 1 K Ni, Si, Pt, or 2.25 K NTC

You need to read closer, your correct, but that's not what we did. We moved the predefined AI-3 "Sideloop Input" to AI-4 by changing the number in the params of that "sideloop input" He already had the sensor attached to AI-4. This is the same way you move predefired AI's BI's BO's that are used in other "standard" applications if your point is not on the predefied point.
