    HP/Zone Controller question

I just moved into a house with a Bryant heat pump, zone controller, and two thermostats. The zone controller has a set of LEDs that indicate when the fan, 1st stage heat, 2nd stage heat, 1st stage cooling, 2nd stage cooling, and reversing valve are energized.

The thing that puzzles me is that whenever the heat is on, the LEDs indicate that the 1st stage cooling is also on. Does this mean that the Zone controller is faulty (or wired improperly)? Is it even possible for a heat pump to have the heat and cooling on simultaneously? I thought that I might call a professional to have a look at it, but I thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone had any insights.

    Many Thanks.

Not sure about that board but I would think Y1 is just showing compressor run in both modes.

Johnny is right. Y1 means call for the compressor.

Y1 can be displayed as "on" when the compressor is on. if "0" is energized and Y1, then your in heating. A heatpump cannnot be in heating and cooling at the same time. is your system working fine?
