Wisconsin.
I'm new to this and a rookie service tech. Just wondering if there are any conventions in Wisconsin ever. Let me know.

I saw on the news once there's a gay pride convention I think in Madison.

Oh goody, the clash of the supermen.....
These particular conventions are very informal and are put on by the members of this forum. Where we have the annual convention is up to who is going to host the next one.
I think the one after Colorado is going to be in Canada. I'd be more then happy to go to Wisconsin if someone there decided to host the convention there.
So far;
Dice's have done Pittsburgh
Reefertech and RoBo have done Baltimore
Beencool's have done Vermont
and, selfemployeds have done North Carolina
So far, every one has been a blast and a great way to spend a weekend.

We all said the same about Pittsburgh once upon a time. You showed us there is more to Pittsburgh then lobotomy studies and so someone from Wisconsin can surely show us there is more to Wisconsin then frozen Cheese.

HVAC-Talk conventions have seemed East Coast weighted. Perhaps having one more centrally located in the U.S., ahem St. Louis maybe?
Do we have attractions that might even interest the most tentative hvac/r tech? Consider:
Tour the largest U.S. brewery: http://www.budweisertours.com/ and the tour and beer samples are free!
Which has proved a magnet for a number of microbreweries/brew pubs one can visit: http://www.schlafly.com/ http://www.morganstreetbrewery.com/ http://www.squareonebrewery.com/ , all in the downtown area.
http://www.alandalebrewing.com/ is in fashionable Kirkwood. And I can think of three others further out. http://www.augustabrewing.com/ http://www.ofallonbrewery.com/ofallonbrewery.html http://www.trailheadbrewing.com/
Did I say there was beer in St. Louis? Yes, we are a net exporter.
And, of course, the Gateway Arch: http://www.nps.gov/archive/jeff/arch.html the tallest monument in the U.S. And unlike the Washington monument, you can ride a tram up to the top
Casinos everywhere: http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/harra...rty-home.shtml http://www.ameristarcasinos.com/stcharles/index.asp http://www.casinoqueen.com/ http://www.presidentcasino.com/stlouis/ and our newest downtown casino which opened up about a week ago: http://www.lumiereplace.com/
Six Flags for the fair goers: http://www.sixflags.com/stLouis/index.aspx
Actually, there are also a few attractions for the more sophisticated. But I'll skip for brevity.
The HVAC/R industry, of course, is well represented in St. Louis. Might I name a few? SPORLAN, Hussmann, Nordyne, True, Emerson, SPORLAN, Engineered Air. And you might get to meet some its brightest individuals. A tour perhaps at one of these fine facilities?

Eat cheese and drink beer.

Sounds good Andy. So we will be seeing you at the convention in Colorado this year to discuss your hosting a future convention in St. Louis?

Perhaps. I enjoy visiting Colorado during the summer, even if the beer isn't quite as good as what I'm used to.

what do you think we do on these conventions? learn about work? NO we drink, eat, drink some more and basically blow off steam no need to get us to a place where we have to use our brains. it just isnt ethical
