    stupid a$$ walk-in

get to a no cool walk in, flairnut at txv has leaked almost all refrigerant out

pump it the rest of the way down, redo flair (which required extending the 1/2 inch pipe, then welded)

changed dryer evacuated, then attempted to charge the rest of the way up, there is air in the line

recovered freon, recharged partially, attempted to start-up, now the frickin pressure switch wont make

i know i could just jump the switch, but i still have to fix it

go get a new pressure switch, it starts pouring rain

son of a biscuit eater , now i am really pissed, only good thing is it is 1/2 mile from my house

could someone please turn off the frickin rain! i hate not finishing a job!

after venting i dont feel 1 damn bit better!

refrigeration hides problems unlike any heating and cooling system

My question - why do we do this? because we love it. what other job could you get frost bite on a 90* day, or 2nd and 3rd degree burns on a -20 degree nite!

i like them cause you aint gotta worry if the chumpy who installed it burned it up

now all chumpy has to do is learn to make a good flair (flare)

    I feel your pain..........

Had a call somewhat like yours last week.

6 door reach in freezer warm.

Found txv in right case modulating wildly from full open to closed.....we're talking 3F superheat at compressor when it opens up.

Then found a 7 psig pressure drop in the suction line from evap to compressor (suction filter plugging up).

Then found not one........but both defrost termination thermostats bad so the case was cooking out in defrost.

    I haven't had a cluster of a call like that in a while.............thank goodness.

Let's see, your middle TN. Must be around Murfreesboro. I'm a Chattanooga boy. You sure you can make it to Miami over Monteagle Mtn.

Thinking out a loud here, I'm just wondering if we are getting more flare nut leaks, because we use them less, and for get how to tighten them correctly due to lack of use

Something I learned a year or so ago, flaring tools wear to the point that you can't get the flare to seal. replaced the old guy, no more leaks. I didn't throw it out, I figured it was probably a museum piece.

There's probably a thousand opinions on this but I put a very little paper thin smear of leak lock on the connection being careful not to use too much. So far no leaks .

Yeah i've been up and down that rock a few times before. If I remember right there's a dumpy truckstop/ diner at the top off of I-24. That stretch of road is a steep one.
