    Refco Digital Gauges

    Hey Guys,

I was at Johnstone today and the Refco Rep was there with thier new Digital Gauges.
They do sub cooling and super heat. Show saturated temps. Has a built in micron gauge and, handles 50 flavors of refrigerants. Hoses included.
They have a 2 year over the counter warranty also.
They where on sale (15% off).
At $270.00 out the door I had to have them!!

I'll post pics in a day or two.

I have been looking at them. Please post your reveiw in a few weeks. I think it might be very helpful.

That makes me extremely skeptical about their quality.
That is less than JB wants for their low quality POS digital set...

    Hurry with the pics please.

Doesn't look very impressive from that.

Must not be very proud of them either, still not on their own website.

With a 3 second update I am sure they will be worth all of $270.00.

I bought the M2 Deluxe guage set and put a set of Ritchie hoses on them.
The quality of the actual guages is what impressed me. Check out the website...

I looked at them today and they appeared to be well made(durable) Can't vouch for the electronics in them, but they are Swiss made so they should be fine. We had a mini-trade show at our shop today and the rep was offering the gauges for $195 ($215 w/ case). Let us know how they do. I might just buy them for the price.

    Hey Guys,

I used my Refco Digitals today.
They where 2 microns different from my CPS micron gauge and dead on in temps with a fieldpeice sub cooling thermometer.

I like them so far but this is the first time I've used them. I do like thier hoses and they connect to the unit just like a manifold.

I've been busy at work but will take and post pics on Friday.

    Question ???

Does it have one temp input or two, meaning can you use two at the same time, or does it have only one were you have to switch the probe.

I hope you don't plan on hooking those digitals up to anything other than a orfice a/c system as the 3 second update might as well be 3 hours.

The 3 second update time is a bit of a deal breaker.

Yes they only have 1 port for temps. I wished they had 2 but since we either charge by superheat or subcooling and not both to me it doesn't matter.
The 3 second update is fine. I've never seen a TXV hunt that fast.

I've used them on a 2 ton split with an orffice and a 40 ton Trane intellipak and they seem to work just fine.

Do they have every feature that other brands have. No, but I think I have an affordable entry level digital manifold that if it breaks for 2 years I'll return them to Johnstone and get a new pair.
