Siemens Apogee / Bacnet
Is the Siemens/Apogee a true BACNET system?

From what I am told...
No...it is Siemens software that you can add
a BACNET driver to integrate to a BACNET system.

I do not know what version of Apogee you are referring to, but Siemens advertises their new Apogees as native BacNet, so I do not think software would be required.
From what I understand, a native BacNet headend can be connected directly to a BacNet compliant controller without a router/protocol converter of any kind.
If anyone knows different, I would appreciate hearing more.

There are Integration drivers that can be loaded in some APOGEE controllers to support MSTP LANs.
There are also native BACnet versions of Siemens Controllers.
The Insight Software has both a BACnet client option and a BACnet server option.
