    Bubba Gump Beer Steamed Shrimp

Had the opportunity to feast at a Bubba Gump Restaurant recently. We ordered their "Shrimp Net Catch"...and everyone loved it.

Yesterday Shrimp was on sale, so we decided to try and duplicate the recipe.

We think we hit it dead on.......

    Here it is:

2lbs deveined shrimp (uncooked & shells on)
    4 tbl spoons "Old Bay"
    3 tbl spoons Paprika
    1/2 tea spoon cayenne
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    3/4 cup Beer
    1/4 cup Vinegar
    1/2 Lemon (cut into wedges)

In a deep fry pan bring ingredients to a boil...add shrimp and cover for 8 minutes...thicken with cornstarch/water mixture, & serve.

Sounds worth a try. Like you I like to eat something good at a restaurant then try to guess at what they did and try to better them.

Sounds like I want to try it!

How much of a mess is it when you peel the shrimp with the sauce on?

Do you serve it over rice, or another starch?
Experience is what you have an hour after you need it.

You know it's good eatin' when the serving instructions start with " Cover everything with newspaper"!

We are lucky enough to live close to Montery where there is a Bubba Gumps, we eat there almost everytime we go there, it is about a 45 min ride. I usually get the Bucket of Boat trash. It is s great location right on Canary row to.
