    No oil glass on semi?

Copeland M# HWJ2-0050-CAV-100 semi-hermetic and No oil sight glass Are there more like this? I've never seen this. Is it optional and the guy who bought this one just cheep? Is the only way to check oil level in this one - remove and measure?

From that model number, "W"- is water cooled, "0050"- 1/2hp, "V"- 208/230volt 1p. To small of a compressor to have an oil sight glass.

I can't remember ever seeing no oil sight glass. I am almost positive I've come across a 1/2 Hp. a few times. Is my mind going?

The "H" family of compressors have never had a sight glass. "K" bodies and larger do with the exception of a few years that Kelvinator requested no sight glass on the "K" bodies.
