    needing help

    has anyone heard of a suction interchanger in a refrigeration system, and if so whats its purpose?

    I wonder if what you are referring to is what may be more commonly known as a suction line heat exchanger.

    If I am correct in the usage of the term, what the device basically is, is a suction line with a liquid line encasing it.






    The purpose of the x-changer is to help subcool the liquid refrigerant before it hits the TXV.

    I agree with markettech. Everything I have found on interchangers is just another name for a heat exchanger. Must be new terminology being that the actual heat exchange occurs internally.
