    bullet

    bullet vacuum pump spits out a little bit of oil on startup, is that normal?

    You could have over-filled with pump oil. I found out the hard way that it has to be running to fill to the middle of the sight glass. If you fill it to the middle of the sight glass while the pump is off, better get ready for clean up first time you crank it up again...

    Then again, this advice may be common sense and I may just be an idiot.

    Every pump I've ever used has had a tendency to spit a bit of oil at very high flow rates which are common during the initial stages of evacuation or if nothing is connected which sounds like what you are describing.

    Mine does the same thing...never been an issue for me at least.

    X2 Didnt ever think it wad wrong. Do you change the oil frequently?

    I may be one also. I kept getting oil up into my hose. Couldn't figure it out.
    Double-checked directions, check oil while running, NOT while off. lol.
