    TRANE Strip Heater Staging

BAYHTR1415BRK is set up to come on with 10Kw first and 5Kw second. And the Trane 10Kw heater (BATHTR1410) can't cant be staged at all. Any particular reason that the TRANE HP's need such a big kick in the first stage of a stageable setup?

    Sounds like what most do.

Now remember that current Trane heat pumps tend to be light in their heating capacity so will need backup more frequently than others.

Trane doesn't get fancy with the controls for the heat packages. Just simple and reliable 2 pole and 1 pole contactors.
Hardly anything ever goes wrong with their heat packages.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

If you want, add another contactor for the second bank of strips. That assumes that your thermostat has enough stages to control another step of heat.
Remember, Air Conditioning begins with AIR.
