Here goes my first problem I ever discuss here.. Well I have a right handed air handler, the unit is freezing up but when I open the doors I notice the coil was backwards I just don't have install manual to confirm but I know it is . I'm I right or wrong or does it matter??

it appears correct, the air in this pic would be entering the a coil at the right, exiting the left into supply

i see that, but if supply come's out of bottom, its a down flow, if it comes out the top, its an up flow. Its on its side, so does it come out of the bottom, or top if you stood it up? (the supply)

How is the airflow and static? Looks to be a hungry 5 ton coil..need a lot of air to keep that beast fed, especially on a low ambient days if there is no head pressure or low-ambient controls.

And coil is probably backwards,...I simply googled the install manual, see page 7
Install manual is probably still sealed in a baggy along with all the accessory stuff in the blower compartment

I think it's backwards all you do is change the location of the drain pan on those a bunch of air is probably bypassing the coil

Thank you so much for the install manual! It is backwards and well the return has a plenum which is open at end to the ceiling. It has ceiling tiles and open grids as returns.

Coil is still backwards, meaning its going to hit the top plate of coil first, instead of going through the open a from the bottom as usual. (correct? im staying tuned because i have a system someone else installed, the same way, with issues)

This stuff always happens in the worst working locations. Probably suspended in a location that is right in the path of every office employee who needs to get to the copy machine. I can work all day on rooftop units and still skip home, give me one suspended air-handler above a drop ceiling and I am sore for days.

So if it hit's the top of a backwards coil (Airflow) and then choose's a slab of the coil with less resistance, and favors it, does that sound rite? If in the correct position, its forced into the a and airflow is better thru both slabs.

I believe your on the right track...I think you can get away with having the top of an A coil in the path of the supply, like in certain down flow horizontal applications, but not in the path of the return.
