I make 85k tax free which means I would have to make 110k or more in the states to walk away with the same money. If I was making that in the states I wouldn't be here either. So you make more than 110k? Wow, thats great but not everyone can pull in that kind of money.

Myself, Glad there are people that will do the job. like the others I am to much a coward to take that job.

Be careful, lot of lobbing of mortars into the green zone the last few days or week.
If common sense is so common how come so few of us have it!

    NO, NOT EXACTLY!
IT IS KIND OF A PRIVATE MATTER.
ALTHOUGH I DO MAKE OVER 95K ON MY CHECK, THEN OVER 25K IN BENEFITS, I DO HAVE SOME GREAT WRITE OFFS AND GET TO KEEP ABOUT 70,
ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT I MAKE ON MY CHECK. THE BOSS PUTS ABOUT 20K AYEAR IN MY MUTUAL FUND.
IN A WAY I DO MAKE QUITE A BIT MORE THAN 110K.

I WORK ABOUT 2,400 HOURS A YEAR, PAID VACATION AND HOLIDAYS, COMPANY TRUCK,GAS CARD, UNIFORMS, COMPANY SUPPLIED ALL TOOLS, COMPANY CELL PHONE,FREE MEDICAL BENEFITS, BOSS PAYS PENSION AND 401K,
I EVEN GET REIMBURSED TO WASH MY VAN AND TAKE CUSTOMERS TO LUNCH, BOSS PAYS FOR SCHOOL AND PAYS ME TO GO.
ALL THAT SAID, NOBODY WANTS TO COME WORK AT OUR SHOP BECAUSE WE HAVE GPS AND WORK ON ROOF TOP UNITS!

SO DEQ29 GOD BLESS YOU FOR HELPING OUT OVER THERE!
I AM A VETERAN AND I LOST MY DAD IN VIETNAM, HE WAS A KOREAN WAR POW. WHEN YOU GET BACK, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME OR CALL ME FOR A JOB IF YOU WISH.
    SINCERELY,

    FRANK

    Frank-

I work on rooftop units every day, in sun, wind, rain, snow, and yes, at night.

If you know of a way I can join you in KC (one of my favorite places for a smoked tenderloin sandwich, at the Majestic) then please write a note to my email address in my profile. One of the things that has kept me from going overseas is my dad, who is 87. He was an RCAF navigator, and I went to VFMA, so I'll bet you and I have a lot in common.

If your employer values you like you describe, I'd be willing to make the move. Right now, we are having trouble logging 40 hours.

    Thanks!

One year contract, payable in monthly installments. On call 24/7, but as others have said, you sit around most of the time.
You would have the rank of a field grade officer, to get into the PX, etc. Airfare paid for as well as all room and board. You would live in a hut in on a Marine base, surrounded by at minimum 500 Marines. If, you went to another site, you would fly or convoy under full armed escort.
You must be able to pass a background check, NO record, and have nothing wrong with you medically.

    Pay:
    $90,000.00, that is tax free.

I have been in country a total of 9 times. I have seen what other companies do, and pay. Some pay more up front but take it back out for room and board, airfare, and you have no security...

Interested, contact me, emails in my profile.

The Owners Son-In-Law, of the last co I worked for, quit to go do a program similiar to this one. Makes like 6,000 a month, setting up A/C in Military Tents and what not.

Relax, once you get over here it won't seem like such a big deal. After 3 1/2 years over here it seems rather normal to me. Your biggest frustration probably won't be the bad guys but will instead be the heat and all the rules they have over here. It feels good to help a soldier stay comfortable when he is not out battling the bad guys.

It just depends on the size of the base. A big job at my base is like installing 48 package units and 25 split units on these tents here. I didnt get any extra help but I have had 3 months to complete the task. There is a construction HVAC team at the main base but construction could be installing window units in trailers or duct work and package units on a hard structure. Basically, you would never be overworked except for emergencies.
I was there at TQ at the end of 04 until May 05
