defrost timer
i have a goodman heatpump. this is the one i have http://www.goodmanmfg.com/Home/Produ...8/Default.aspx
what should the defrost timer be set to. it is set to 45min right now. is that the best setting? i was told that if it need it before that it will come on anyway is that true

No, the compressor must accumilate 45 minutes of run time before the defrost cycle will begin again.
What it should be set to varies with the area.
-
do you think it would be ok to turn it up to 60 min
-
Beenthere says it depends on the area you live in, which is true. Why dont you call the installer back out to set it for you.

Not familar with your winter conditions, so I don't know if 60 is too long, or ok.
Ask your contractor if they have trouble at 60 minutes.
