    thermocouple

Working on a fireplace. Make is a Cambridge.
Apperantly the damn company went out of business and the part we need is a robertshaw mercury filled thermocouple which closes a set of contacts when it sensed flame to power gas valve. The bulb was broken and pilot assemble was permanently fixed to the main plate inside the fireplace. Cant take it out without taking the whole entire unit apart? Any one heard of this company and if you can get parts. Also what would you recommend doing. Its no wonder this company went out of business. Stupid setup

You should still be able to find the pilot safety. Carrier still uses them on some RTU. Other brands used that part also.

Sounds like you are looking for a White-Rodgers flame sensor.

    Not a thermocouple

actually im not looking for that part
Its a robertshaw mercury filled capilliary with a small bulb on the end
it does not plug into any valve. It uses the mercury to close a set of contacts to send millivoltage to the gas valve to open it. It just mounted to a plate and had 2 wires on it

Stanner, I have seen what you are talking about. There was a fireplace company, I think it was Martin, that used a flame switch or flame sensor that interrupted the TP or TC connection when the pilot went out. Sounds like the same thing that you are loking for.

I would not fix it unless you can get the exact part because you will hold yourself liable if something happens. Just my 2 cents.

The part is still available. Older Napoleon fireplaces also use them, and we get them regularly. Try looking under Napoleon part #s. Good luck.
Where are you? Are you done yet? I got ONE more call for you.....
