furnace question

Looking for guidelines(code requirements) for running flue pipe and combustion air pipe for high efficiency furnace in NJ. Furnace located in the basement. Planning to run both pipes between beams through wall to outside.
Question is how far I need to be above ground and how far away from doors and windows.

just look in your 2006 international fuel gas code book or the install manual for the equipment. state specific codes can override international codes only if they exceed the saftey requirements you'll find in the international code books. of course, your local inspector has the final say-so (which is sometimes like a whole other, unpublished code book that you have to satisfy the requirements of).
