Trane vs Heil Recommendation
I am currently looking to replace my 25+ year old heat pump setup and have received quotes from two contractors as follows:
Quote 1 -
Trane XL14i Heat Pump
Trane VS air handler (4TEE3F49)
19kw electric heater package
Quote 2 -
Heil DX1400 Heat Pump
Heil FSM4 VS air handler
20kw electric heater package
The price difference between the two is about $1k. I am mostly concerned with reliability as well as performance. Recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Go Trane, and ask you dealer for rebates, that may close the price gap.

I'm partial to Trane, but considering all that goes into the installation the brand is not important. Add in all the little things not mentioned and this list could be three times longer. Finding just one contractor that will do the installation properly is hard. If either one is going to do things properly then go with his brand.
