    What is that noise from my heat pump

    When my heat pump starts up, it makes a noise that sounds like it is "energizing". The noise lasts for maybe two seconds. What is the source of this sound and why is it being made?

    If your reversing valve is defaulted to A/C mode, it could be the valve changing to Heat mode, or vice-versa if you're in a climate still needing A/C this time of year.

    there is no one with in ear shot of your unit so there is no way of even quessing what the noise could be
    call a pro and get it looked into and serviced
