Furnace won't stop running

Had the heat on the other day and I get home in the afternoon, shut it off from thermostat and it won't quit running. Currently turning it off from breaker box. Any suggestions??? Was thinking the thermostat is bad

hint - look for an opened packedge thats cause they put lots of returned thermostats back on the shelf - ssssssssssshhhhh don't tell anyone I told you the seceret eh! it will be easy for you to return the stat if its not the stat after all but it could be the stat or could it?

So, you know it has a problem but you've turned it back on and off using the "breaker box"?

When the tech gets there make sure you tell him how long this has been going on.
