High flush tanks of that type are different. And if I had replied your answer in my Journeyman's or Master Plumbing practical test, I would have failed. Our Plumbing theory/test preparer who had taught in Vocational Schools for years stated that if you replace the flush pipe to THAT type of toilet, with a swan neck flush valve, it won't work properly. He went on to state that if you try to fabricate one because the original one was lost, that it won't work. That it is necked down at the bottom by the ell. Do NOT ever cut it off. I had a customer who's father was an old master plumber in NYC and he gave her one of these toilets as a gift in the new house they built where I worked. All the parts were there.

It is not a syphon jet toilet. It is a blow down type where the high volume of water causes the bowl to evacuate. The Kohler Knock Off flush tank toilet is not the same as that toilet.

That toilet may or may not work. If it doesn't flush properly, that's the reason why.

Technically, soldering IS a type of brazing.. just using Solder (Tin/Lead alloy) as the filler material. Brazing is simply any molten metal bonding helped by capillary action.

I dig it. I think that would fall under the steam punk style. Would be kind of cool for a nicer bar bathroom or man cave

actually in the world of welding, the difference is temperature, Generally anything under 600°F is considered soldering, anything over 600°F is considered brazing.....or was it 800°, it's been 30 years since I was a certified welder I can't remember.

But basically, both soldering and brazing use the same technique....basically.

looks like the copper going to the lights is for show. as you can see how they are mounted to the wall, wire can easily be ran through. but it is cool if i ever have the time i might try something like that but done all bent. that will not be easy but im getting better with my bender.

    Soldering is done at <800f
Brazing is 800 or above, and below the melting point of the metal
Welding is fusion done at the melting point of the metal

Anyway, the style is "steam punk". Think Jules Verne...

My wife is into, and I'm starting to have some fun with it as well.

She has actually been accumulating some of the stuff for this style throughout the house... Whatever... I'm not a woodworker, at least I'm comfortable working with metal....

Looks like they are soft soldered not brazed, the shut off valve behind the toilet sure looks like soldered.
