SS # required, but you're on your own if it's stolen...
As required at birth, each one of us has a social security number. For those who joined those ranks after birth, such as at acceptance of U.S. citizenship, you also have a social security number.
Why? It's mandatory, right?
As is referenced in this video, if your SS# is stolen or misused, the SS agency cannot actually contact you and tell you.
You would need to hire a P.I. and get the job done yourself.

Why can the private sector protect our identities better than the public sector, as in the companies that provide security for your identity?
