    FX-40 or NAE

I have customer that has a NCM 350, he is thinking of upgrading his system to BAC-NET with a FX-40 or NAE.

P.S can we buy FX40 direct from JCL I'm under the impression we can't

    FX hands down.
Bacnet? For future? If its a straight conversion what would be the point? The FX has a N2 driver. with Lon and Bacnet ability as well. Buy them from a JCI ABCS. Make sure you get one with "Enterprise Connectivity" And with Full Workbench software embedded..

    Thanks for your response Freddy-b
Can you give me more info why i would need enterprise connectivity and workbench software with the FX-40.

Why BacNet? Customer wants to operate BAS in remote location.

go with a Jace 403 or Jace 6 then from HW, Vykon, Distech, etc.

The 40 is an overloaded, out of date burden, period.

*But how do you talk to the N2 devices then without the FX40?

*Frebby-d: Are you saying that you don't see that bacnet is the future yet?
*A conversion to a NAE gives you a conversion upgrade AND is bacnet at the super level.
*Then with the power of the NAE, you can and bacnet MTSP at the field controller level.
*LON? Are you not aware of the LN line from JCI. I'm just starting on it, but it looks amazing.
*I've been shown, on the web, that it's so good that other companies are buying them and putting their names on them. One of them is a company Dictech

Enterprise Connectivity means that you can have FX to FX comunications FX to Server Comm etc...etc... So if your site has more than one or plans for more than one in the future get them with EC. Workbench embedded has the Workbench tools embedded in them. If it does not then you haveto buy the software or hire someone with it to service and make changes.

I think you may be getting protocals confused with Web Enabled connectivity.
Just about anything can have Web access these days, doesnt matter if protocals are BacNet.Lon, Proprietary or a combination of the three.

*Frebby-d: did you notice that Al Gore is now a Noble Peace Prize winner.
*Time to get with the program, don't you think.
*By program, I mean the one that JCI developed and is leading the way on, and yes, WITH NAEs.
*More love, less hate. Al Gore proved it works!
