All aboard the crazy train we will see if your here for the long haul or just a visit.
Hello fellow mechs/techs and contractors. Ive been a long time lurker and wanted to share my resume for any critiques before I begin to submit. I feel I have a ton of talent, yet don't want to write a book about it. This is not in a formal format yet, rather just looking for initial feedback on a first draft. I am still preparing a cover letter and am well employed at the moment... does not hurt to be prepared though.

In response to your post, I will disclose that I do have an active hvac-talk other than this one. I have been a member since 1-17-2005 and used the account frequently enough that I worry my peers would see my post and create issues at my current employer. Therefore, I have omitted the contractors names and my local unions number to try and preserve my privacy and get input from the membership and contractors here on the site. I have not had to update or keep a resume for over 10 years. I should have been more upfront but do worry about my privacy. If this is in poor taste then I will remove my original post and pursue other means. Thank you.
Keep it up. No worries.

Well then welcome back again. I understand your situation completely if you look at mine it dosen't say much about me either for the same reasons privacy and employment.

Not that it needs to be any longer, but I like to start off with a paragraph explaining my "mission statement" for the job in applying for. I also include how long I've been in the trade for. That way it catches the eye and makes them want to know more.
I think that is a good idea. I plan on having a cover letter that would be tailored for the job I am applying for. Does anybody do cover letters anymore, or should you include a paragraph on the resume itself?
Thx guys and good to know others think like me when it comes to privacy. If big brother (fortune 100 company) finds out I would like to move to a more temperate coastal climate from the rust belt it could create a headache for me here.
