The Big Easy Oil-less Turkey Fryer
Anyone got one of these?
Saw it at Lowes for the first time today

That's pretty cool. I wonder if it really can duplicate the deep fried crispy goodness. Either way, I want one!

From what I have been reading, yes. Not to mention there is no dangerous hot oil, warm up time, cost of oil, storing oil before and after and fixing the oil level and not ingesting the oil. Cook time is 8 to 10 minutes a pound with little attention needed during cooking

I love some of the moronic comments below article.

#1 it is electric. (Stand corrected it is gas.)
#2 it is not going to give you that peanutty flavor you get when you deep fry the bird. Who cares if you are eating healthy on Thanksgiving?
#3 why pay that kind of money for an outside oven when you have one inside? Especially when you are trying to watch football at the same time.
I give it 3 thumbs down (still), James.Last edited by Green Mountain; 10-01-2007 at 04:38 PM.

All the more reason why it should be great unless of course your objective is making your turkey taste like peanuts. The OP asked if anyone had one. Kind of like getting a perspective from someone that actually has one.
And your number #3 is laughable when you consider the job and danger and mess and time it is putting it in the oil.

I appreciate the job offer Spotts. But I'm waiting for the offer from James. As soon it gets winter up here James will be in the Yankee fleecing season and he'll be able to justify buying me a brand new F-350 long bed van. (I'll need a CD player in that too, Boss.) He must have a good health plan too. He won't let me eat any turkey fried in peanut oil.

I'll stick to my fryer. It cooks in about 1/2 the time and when the turkey comes out, the sweet potato fries go in. MMMMmmmmmmm...........
Never knock on Death's door. Ring the bell and run, he hates that.
