    Friday Opening Session

At this morning's opening session, a number of awards and recognition were given to contractors, technicians, and consultants in this industry who have given of themselves back to the HVACR community.

Among them, the 2007 Contracting Business Residential Contractor of the Year, Atlas Butler, was presented with its award. Company president, Mark Sweptson, accepted and then delivered an enthusiastic and motivational keynote address that demonstrated precisely why his Columbus, OH company was chosen.

Swepston spoke about giving of yourself, and said, "I see no reason to get up in the morning if you aren't going to serve others."

He also shared an acronym, DWYSYWD, with everyone that is commonly seen hanging on walls and doors at Atlas Butler. It stands for a phrase, which Swepston says, will help you to be successful if you follow it: Do What You Said You Would Do.

Lastly, Sweptson spoke about looking at where you want to be in 5-10 years.

"The only way to get to where you want to be in five years," he said, "is to set a goal and to work toward it every day."

Sweptson's speech was a shining example of the great things so many contractors have to say ... all you have to do is ask them. Most are willing to share idea, if you ask. That's what Comfortech is all about.
