    I like these motors

One motor, different horse power ratings. Just change the cap. Saves on shelf space too.

    Oh heck yeagh.

Ed. I carried the Rescues on my truck when I was on my own. 4 motors. covered just about anything I ran into in light commercial. They carry them at United Ref.

I have seen the majority of the ones I have installed since installation. And in the last 3 years of duty not one has failed I know of.

Okay; I'm going to ask a really dumb question.

Why don't you just run the motor in 1/2 HP mode for all applications? RPM of the motors is going to remain the same, thats determined by the windings. The Amp. draw is determined by the size/pitch of the Fan Blade(s) and the drag from the motor itself. In my opinion the reason you would use a quarter HP motor, is because it's cheaper than a half HP motor, and maybe a smaller size. I've seen larger HP motor run less amps. in the same application as a smaller HP motor.

Hate to spoil the fun, but the RPM are determent by the number of poles.

They can save you a trip to the supply house but I still like the oem motors for a lot of the brands out there.
    No muss, no fuss.
