I have had (older) Triumph, BMW and a Ducati. If you live to work on things these were built for you. I had a GL1200, 1500 & a 1800 NEVER had a real problem with them. It is just a different bike. I like your taste in bikes for around town! But I wouldn't want to try an IB on one.

I did an Iron Butt Run on a Kawasaki KZ-440
It was a 1981. I'd have to think about an exact date but the IB Run was within the last ten years I would say. I wouldn't mind doing another one.
And WTH? Anybody could do an IB one on a big Wing. What sense does that make? It's doesn't mean anything. Nothing is reaffirmed. Nothing is glorified.
I'd like to do the next one on maybe a 175 or a 250. But I already have 400's. Oh wait! I have a CL-175 too. <g> I better get those new bars on it one of these days.PHM

Here's my bike, XR 650L slightly modified. New, gas tank, exhaust, handelbars, rear fender and light, tires, gearing, some misc bolt ons. All in all it has bucked me off the back several times and got thrown a few times, hit the dirt once or twice and got stuck in a deep ravein and almost went into adreanal crisis getting out. Over all , fun as hell.

Hell; I don't even want my car engine that big!
