This unit does not have an ETD it has a sequencer and there was 24 v at the coil also without a call for heat.
    I think 2sac is correct.

The only place the power can be coming from is the limit which i find crazy that a bad limit would do that. Kind of dangerous!!
There is a manual reset limit that will kill the unit if it overheats. That doesn't help the people in the buiding

On the small board that the tstat wires hook up to has 3 relays. 2 of the relays are for compressor lock out and the other is a blower interlock. So the only thing that makes sense is that the limit is backfeeding the w1.

yea that's what I was seeing on the schematic that it would backfeed but the etd would never know the difference between a real call for heat or the limit opening. not understanding what the limit opening would do in a good way than. you still have to have the centrif swtich on the draft motor and the rw relay for burners to be lit.

The limit is not open. It's closed on both contacts. marchvac is correct that voltage is backfeeding thru the interlock. The unit still believes there is a call for heat so inducer is running, all safeties are closed and burners are on

Your mug is indeligably etched in my mind as Ed Bundy...so it's hard to say

I really wish you could make a successful and satisfying living teaching...I could move up next to the lake and become a full time professional student.

Granted there was someone we could count on to bail us out of the pokey every now and again...

Problem I'd have being a full time teacher is the teaching part. LOL I'm pretty quick to lose patience with people who just want the answers. I've trained a number of guys over the years and the vast majority don't want to work for it. You'd think more people would take advantage of getting a paycheck and getting an education simultaneously.
