We are building a new home and we are looking for a woodburing firplace about 38 to 42 inches or so across the front. We will use gas logs.
We live in Houston so heat not really required.
Our new home will be much tighter than our existing 20 yr old home.
In the old home, I fell quite a bit of air movment inside the fireplace.

Are the new models better at sealing where the damper closes?

Any brand that is better to create a tight seal when the fireplace is not buring?

We looked at direct vent and did not care for them, at least at this point.
Thanks, for your thoughts.
