Our AC service company replaced a 3 1/2 ton Trane XE 1200 with a 3 1/2 ton Trane XR13. Unlike the XE 1200, the XR13 runs all day (I'm in Houston) and doesn't start cyclimg off and on until about 10 o'clock at night. Can anyone tell me if they used an inappropriate replacement for my XE 1200?

If you are waiting for the 'other guy' to change first, just remember, you're the 'other guy's' other guy. To continue to expect real change when you keep acting the same way as always, is folly. Won't happen. Real change will only happen when a majority of the people change the way they vote!

If the indoor coil was matched to the 12 SEER (meaning Trane TXV coil) it should be fine with the XR13 as well. If the old one cooling you under same weather conditions, the new one should too.

It has been really hot and humid there in Houston..... what was the heat index today..? What indoor temp are you trying to maintain...? Most systems are running all day and half the night.........Better than NOT running.....Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone.
