h20 piping wrong
customer has about 35 air handling units that are piped backwards, chill
water goes in on entering air side of the coil, what effect does this have on
capacity & humidity control? from 5 to 40 hp.
10% reduction in capacity comes to mind, but you should probably contact the Sales Engineer that sold the job and ask him. Or ask the Manufact of equip.
May not be an issue unless coils are marginally sized.
One effect is a probable reduction in intended dehumidification capability.
what you are referring to is parallel flow which has a low LMTD, "less effiecient". Additional coil stress, chilled water meets hot air.
Counter flow, High LMTD cold water meets cold air. Best practice.
Doesnt matter, because it will be blamed for everything forever no matter what....lol Price up a fix.
