evap cooler calcs
I've got a warehouse with approx. 8000 sq feet of space and 15 feet high with a 10 foot envolope to the ceiling (120,000 cubic feet) can anyone tell me how many CFM's I will need to maintain 78 to 84 deg. The warehouse is in Oceanside, Ca. where on a real hot day might push 95 deg.

The way we build has a greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ than any HVAC system we install.
1.- You have to find the proper ventilation rate, mean the CFM
I believe the air changes must be between 3 and 10 min/change.
So you have to take the all volumen/min air change.
2.- When you have your CFM, take the wet bulb temperatura and dry bul temperature and any supplier could tell you what cooler evaporator is suitable for you.

To properly size an evap cooler calculate the cubic area to be cooled and multiply it by the proper factor for the city your in ( Calif costal cities use a factor of .2). Remember exhausting the air at approximately the same rate is important in achieving proper cooling. In Industria/Commercial applications cubic footage should be calculated to the height of the cooler discharge in the building being cooled.
