    inter city furnace info

    Any one out there have in their library of stuff have a cfm chart for a inter city furnace model # cgk100no6 built in 1991.The owner wants to put a 4 ton unit in it and im not sure it has enough cfm to be compatible.

    Change the motor and be done with it.

    Better doublecheck that model #. Usually the blower capacity is in it, like 12, 16, 20. Also I seem to recall they start with G.

    Most of those crap brand furnaces have the cooling cfm listed on the rating plate. You could measure the blower wheel, and motor hp, and compare to another brand with the same basic heater cabinet design.

    So compare your furnace to one that is equivalent.
    I remember Goodman/Janitrol used to rate their furnaces at 100K btu heat and 4 ton cooling, if you wanted 5 tons of cooling you got stuck with a 125K heat.
