Of all places to set an outdoor unit...

Please don't set it in front of the electrical meter. This is considered against code as there is a required unobstructed clearance to be maintained in front of this electrical equipment.

Looks like an old G&S- built like tanks. Hated changing OFM's on those laying on your back.
    Probably 1960's or 1970's?
Probably not original w/ a lineset cover.
Flip the unit around 180 degrees & all is good.

    I've seen worse.

Real estate transaction Realtor had us out to estimate replacement. I was not going to set it back where it was.

Looks like an HS8, 1970-1975. They were tanks! If the A coil didn't leak or the drain pan didn't rust out.

Sis had one, I was up to twice a year refills! Then when the fan motor went out she called and said bring a fan motor. I brought a new system. Now 17 years later the old WeatherKing has a big hole in the condenser from dog piss and hasn't needed an ounce since install

Those hs8's are bullet proof. I seen one this past summer with a welded contactor, the suction line was 6" round with ice. I couldn't even get to the electrical it was so froze up. Still humming away. They have actual service valves, but usually seized due to rust now. I still see many every year and replace a few yearly. Between the hs8 and the York tombstone, I'm not sure which one will last longer.

I saw one that style of cabinet was a janotrol. Another one I think I ran into one time was a magic chef. They sure don't have much condenser coil area compared to the newer ones. Head pressure is high on those old ones.
