No heat from furnace after replacing thermostat batteries

Our thermostat was displaying low batteries, but after replacing the old batteries with fresh batteries heat no longer operating properly.

The thermostat appeared normal immediately after battery change however once the heat kicked on the furnace would only stay lit for about 1 minute. After that the thermostat would display "hold -ac".

I took another thermostat in our house and tried it at this location and the same thing occurred. I have restarted the furnace and it still wont stay lit for 1 minute.

    Any advice would be appreciated!
