you use what the manufacturer states else YOU take on sole responsibility for any death or destruction that is caused. oh, and you'd probably void any warranty...
Is it ok to do this? Owner's manual says when venting vertically through and enclosed space without free flowing air to use cpvc. Has anyone ever done it with regular pvc? I know what the manual says but sometimes they are just overkill and i am wondering you guys opinion on this. Thank you.

I see that 3" cpvc is $10 a foot, cant seem to find it anywhere but online. Any suggestions where to get and is this the round-about price?
no pricing and no DIY advice is allowed here. call a professional.

Ok. Another question. How critical is it if a little bit of rain gets in the condensing boiler vent(exhaust) pipe once in a while?
there is no harm in rain or snow getting into the exhaust vent.
