Load Calc Software Recommendations
I am gathering information on the best HVAC load calculation software. Care to share which program you use and any additional comments on it or others?
I am going to be purchasing a software program very soon and have been trying to make my final decision. There are various programs out there but wanted to get other professional opinions before I make my decision.
Interested to see what others use and how it fairs.
Thanks in advance!

I really like the HVAC Calc software at the link above. I bought the homeowner version for the two month usage (click on it for pricing - but it's very reasonable and well worth it).

HVAC Calc gets the job done.
Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance
"There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey. It's unwise to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money -- that is all. When you pay too little, you may lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot -- it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."

I've used Wrightsoft for many years and find it is a gold mine of information. You can purchase various parts of the full suite if you so desire. It comes at a price but purchasing just the suites you need can serve to minimize that to some extent. I like the drawing feature, which allows you to actually draw the home, insert the windows doors, etc. and get the loads for the total structure, each room, etc. You can purchase the suites for radiant, geo, snow melt, etc. www.wrightsoft.com to see in more detail.
If YOU want change, YOU have to first change.
If you are waiting for the 'other guy' to change first, just remember, you're the 'other guy's' other guy. To continue to expect real change when you keep acting the same way as always, is folly. Won't happen. Real change will only happen when a majority of the people change the way they vote!

Various Options
I think we have narrowed it down to:
WrightSoft
Load Calc
Nitek's Load Wizard
but a buddy of mine uses one called Easy Load, which I haven't had a chance to really look at just yet.
My main interest is residential load calculations and I would like to be able do to room by room and whole house. I want accurate information but something that can be accomplished fairly quickly.
Thanks for the comments!

Diy!
I use Manual J!
It takes a little longer, but you know what is in there!
You can buy Ragu, or you can make it from scratch!

Made a decision
Thanks for all the input!
We have purchased the Load Calc Software and have been playing around with it tonight. It is easy to learn and can calculate in no time.
It seems to be the perfect choice for our needs right now.
Have a great night everyone!
