I play every ca. lottery draw. The most winnings was $66,550.00.
Do any of you play the lottery? What is the most you have ever won?

Ross Perot has a memorable quote:
"The lottery is a tax on the foolish"
I have played a few dozen times, never won anything and never really planned to. I dislike gambling in general which is probably good.

Funny you should mention this
My step-dad just got a 5 of 6 last Tues. and thought he'd won $196,000
Actually he won $192....he went from crazy happy to bummed real fast.
5 out of 6 for a 78 milloin jackpot is $192?....what a dragHe made some kinda mistake I guess
Haven't talked to him yet...am real curious what happened.
The lottey site said 1 winner at 196,000...I don't get it.

I spent a week in Vegas, OH MAN what a mistake. Anyway I came back with a s much money as I planned on coming back with so I guess I was a winner. Only went there for a Navy reunion. I work too hard for my money and I an competent enough to realize that the riverboat casinos and Vega$ are not funded by winners. I've had a lot of bad habits in my life and left most of them behind. Fortunately, I never did pick up on gambling. I feel like the other person is trying to cheat me out of my money and make me look like a fool. I figure I win if I never even bother with it.

Nope, I'm one too.
I think I have played the lotto a few times, and maybe bought $50 worth of scratcher tickers in my lifetime... I don't care much for gambling either... It's a waste of time for me, because I always loose anyhow. Might as well throw the money in the garbage to start with.
My brother's wedding was in Vegas... What a joke. Watching people plop down thousands of dollars on some "game" only to loose it all... I Played the nickel slots closest to where the waitresses get the drinks from. Pretty much played solely for the free drinks (but I did tip very well, so I guess I was just paying for them in the end anyhow...) and thats all that it was worth too...
Lottery: a way to tax stupidity.
Hey, big bird! Yer payin' a tax you don't owe.
Most lottery players here are on welfare. That pretty much confirms the "stupidity tax" theory.

I know one thing. The year i won that money the IRS employees got a big raise.
Bigbird, I want my money back. The way I figure if every winner paid me my money in their share you owe me $2.38

I am one of the guys that play the lottery regularly. Never had a big winner, a couple of months ago i had 4 out of 6 in the powerball. (Only won $106). But I enjoy playing, and if I like giving money back to the state, thats taxes others don't have to pay.
I rarely play, but bought one scratch off on my birthday and won $50. Happy Birthday to me.
