New Carrier Infinity Install-Dip switch settings?
I'm having 3 identical systems installed:
Furnace: Carrier 58MVPB080-F-1-14
Heat Pump: Carrier 25HNA936A003
Coil: Carrier CNPHP4221ATA
Control: Carrier SYSTXCCUID01
I noticed alot of dip switches inside the furnace cabinet. I asked the installer if those need to be set, or whether they are factory set, not needing changes. One installer told me that they don't touch those, and that they are set by the factory. That the infinity controller does everything. 45 minutes later, another technician and the other two installers had the cabinent open, looked perplexed, were flipping the dip switches around.
I'm confused. Any thoughts here?

Once the equipment has been started, the Infinity ignores the switch settings. They are wasting their time.

If you not use Carrier SYSTXCCUID01, than dipswitches setup very critical.

But in this case they are using the Infinity UI. So they don't need to set dip switches.

cdh:
Some settings of the DIP switches are used for diagnostic purposes. Laptop is preferred though.

Likely what happened is when they started up system and the control performed the static pressure check it came back too high. So they thought they could adjust the airflow with the cfm dipswitches.
Infinity system forces you to consider the current ductwork when you install the equipment. If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

I don't think they took the electrostatic 20x20 filter out of the return grill when they hooked up the system. Aren't those type of filters restrictive? Could that have given an alert and led them to make adjustments? Although, I thought it was stated previously that with the infinity controller, the dip switch settings are ignored anyway.
