Do variable speed blower motors cause mold?

In most variable speed air handlers I notice more mold than most psc motors. Can this be caused by low airflow? We sell a lot of Am. Std. with Comfort R mode that takes 8 minutes to get to high full speed. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Pets seem to be a common thread too. The dander really feeds the mold it seems. And yes over the years I have stopped using comfort-r and try for 400-425/ton. On two stage equipment factory seems to like 65% blower I use some creative wiring to do 75% or so.
