The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas is currently seeking applicants for an Assistant Building Engineer position. This is a great opportunity for someone who has commercial experience and either has or desires to work with chillers, boilers, large air handlers, cooling towers, etc. I have been here over 8 1/2 years and in the HVAC trade over 30 years. This has been my best gig of them all. My colleagues treat me as a professional, not a mere wrench turner. One of the few places I've worked at where that culture is present.
As I will be part of the interviewing process, what I'll be looking for in addition to the listed qualifications is a candidate who demonstrates a good, teachable attitude and spirit. The museum's mechanical systems are complex; we're a hands-on crew when it comes to correcting problems and taking care of the equipment. We only farm out when the situation calls for it.
See the link below for instructions on how to apply. Please note where it says "no walk-ins" if you are local...they take this seriously.
