    Fred Thompson

So, anyone stay up late enough to watch Leno last night? Fred Thompson was on. He came "thisclose" to announcing. Fairly good 'interview'...especially for Leno! Fred certainly looks presidential.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I think Fred is the best so far but still doesn't suit me as well as I'd like. He had a reputation as being a 'lazy' senator. I'd just like to see some true conservatism, both fiscally and socially in the white house.

I have some ethical concerns about Newt personally but I do feel he would be by far the best thing for the country.

Wake me up when the liberals that are killing us have ethical concerns.

That is like saying you have some "ethical concerns" about a bunch of Marines downtown on a Saturday night in Savannah but none when they are getting shot at.

I'd have to get a more current update on Fred's platform.

Newt is brilliant. I wish he were in.

Ron Paul is it, there isnt anyone even close to him, a real Republican. I will even change my party from independent to republican again if he runs, cause most of the politicians that claim to be republicans, are a disgrace to the name.

I notice most people that say that never really speak up about the socialism the democrats are trying to ram down us or any of their broken spokes on their scandal machine. .

I like Ron Paul, he is probably the straightest arrow on the hill, BUT: he does not have enough charisma to be the top dog. Talk about Bush getting chewed up because he is not a good public speaker... just wait till the media got ahold of Dr Ron...

Concerning Newt: He has a few skeletons in his closet I do not like... one of them is that he is FOR the national ID card. Said a private corp should run it... H*LL, we do NOT need no stinkin national ID card...

I like Fred T. He has conservative sense, he has experience as a trail lawyer (can talk the language to congress), he has acting experience so he is cool on stage, and most of all: He could smoke Hilary in a debate worse that Chill smokes Geer. THAT, I would pay to see...

It will be interesting to see how this political cycle plays out; lots of players and lots of hype this time.

Bush got chewed up because the job is way, way over his level of competence.

He the result of an ill-informed, ignorant electorate and a political party that would run a hyena for office if that hyena could attract voters.

    Thompson? Another empty suit.

Newtie? Like Rudy he has too much personal baggage that repels the inbred yahoo jesus freaks that make up the Republican base.

McCain? Over the hill with no credibility although he could play the role of spoiler.

Romney? More Flip-flops more than a gymnastics meet.

Looks the part, so the usual empty-head Republican might go for that.

Big negative...........he is a Mormon and the standard brand Republican bible thumpers are absolutely terrified of Mormons so that probably wrecks his chances.

The rest of the Republican field is populated by second rate hacks and has beens who would sell their daughters for a vote.
