the best bread for a sandwich, but you can't buy just the bread. Last night I tried to make it myself, and came pretty close just wingin' it. Ingredients and prep are simple:

1 Pillsbury French Loaf (in the cardboard tube)
olive oil
Grated cheese, I used a store bought four-cheese mexican blend
McCormick Garlic and Herb spice blend

open the tube and place dough on a greased pan. pinch the seam shut and place seam-side down. Flatten the dough a bit and brush top with olive oil. Spread a thin layer of cheese on top and lightly press into dough. Sprinkle the spice blend over the top and cook according to directions on the tube. I put a pan with about a quart of water in the oven on the rack below the bread to keep the humidity level as high as possible when cooking. Made a sandwich about 20 minutes after it came out of the oven, and it wasn't bad. After the sopranos, I needed a little snack so I cut a small chunk of bread and it was a whole lot better after after cooling down completely for a few hours. It wasn't quite perfect, but it comes damn close to the real thing.
