Hi, I'm a homeowner with a 23 year old gas furnace and a dinghy 20 year old AC. Both are Carrier and work OK, but I understand the heat exchange is very rusty. I feel it's better to change them now, and make a good choice rather than have to replace them under duress when they fail.
Several proposals: Lennox 96% 2 stage variable speed EL 296
Lennox AC17 Seer R410 XC17
WIFI Lennox Tstat I comfort
My humidifier is still OK
From another installer:

Evaporator coil CNPVP4821
Furnace Air handler 987MA66100V21

Aprilaire 5000 Electronic air cleaner
The second offer is more expensive, but which is the best option in your opinion. My home is a split on 4 levels, about 2500 feet. Is a 3,5 ton AC and furnace too large?
Thanks for all advice you can give me.
