Your opening question was hostile and confrontational.

The responses you've gotten aren't surprising at all to me.

Funny JP I didn't realize you had such a nice side to you and not always so hostile and confrontational. LOL. Thank you, thank you very much

I speak plainly and clearly, Glenn.

If you take that as confrontational, I have no control over it.

Now, calling people liberals, commies and socialists when they don't agree with you rather than trying to do this thing called reasoning...

To a degree, yes, tats are stupid. We have lots of remorseful tat wearers out there. Tat removal is a thriving industry. Nose rings and various pierced bodily parts are also stupid. It is basically 'body art' that has been going on from the beginning of time. I have no tat myself, but this is the sort of silliness we do as youths and often inebriated. The opportunity never presented itself for me, but I am sure if I did have a tattoo, it would be a REALLY BIG ONE.

We abuse our bodies in many ways, decorative foolishness is a rather nonsensical issue.

That said, I consider anyone with multiple visible tats as sort of an idiot. Same as the girl with six nose rings. Idiots.

Any reputable tattoo shop will not tattoo a drunk person.

Alright, JP, time for you to fess up. How many tats?
I dont think all tatts are stupid,I have seen some decent tatts,my objection is when a person is obsessed with them and becomes a billboard.

Some say the same about shops in our trade. It's been a long time since I've stepped into a shop. I'd imagine since it has gone mainstream, the shops are under a lot more scrutiny from local governments and such. When I got my first tats in the 80's the shop I went to was owned and operated by a brother and sister. From what I understand they had developed the "single serve" mentality. They were using new needles and were manufacturing and marketing disposable "everything else" items involved in the tattoo process, which was unheard of at the time. They also didn't tattoo blacks or Hispanics at the time because they were "dirty" people. They openly sold white supremacist clothing and I'm pretty sure the brother was involved with a nationwide motorcycle gang headquartered in Northern IL. Soon after the tattoo craze started, they realized black and Hispanic money was green as well and quickly grew to be one of the largest shops in Chicago. The shop is still around. I don't know if the owners are the same. I haven't stepped foot in there since the early 90's.

I am sorry, but the idea of a 'reputable' tat shop struck me as funny. And you did say yours was involved with some extremists.. I find that hardly reputable. I guess it depends on the rep you are looking for. But I have never actually been in a tattoo shop in my life, so I have to admit I am rather ignorant about the matter. Never been in a massage parlor either, that comes to mind because I noticed there was one put in by the Pizza Hut on my drive home from work yesterday.

I am no petunia, I have gone to strip clubs before a time or two. Three if you count that one was while sent there on a service call.

I should get out more often. I think this evening I will go visit a reputable tattoo shop and see what they have to offer. Not that I intend to purchase anything, but just to consider the options they have to offer. I would probably be interested in something patriotic or religious. Maybe an American eagle, or a cross. Or maybe an eagle on a cross if I am inebriated. LOL! Then I will go wander down to a reputable massage parlor and get one of those too while I am out and about on the town. I just hope they give me Helga and not Hans for my needs. After my relaxing massage, I am going to a reputable strip club. Reputable. Around here, reputable strip clubs are not called strip clubs, they are called 'gentleman clubs'. But it means 'reputable', I can read the damm billboards enough to know that.

With any luck, I might just find myself in a motel room tomorrow morning with a new and 'reputable' girlfriend.

    Hee Haw!

I'm pretty sure Abraham's followers (especially the males) would have much prefered to be inked as opposed to the particular brand of mutilation they endured. While fully conscious and old enough to remember it...

If he had a Bible he could read it, and it would do him good. But since the verse is tatted on his back, he can't read it.
