Confirming the Carrier system installed matches what was agreed to

    Hi,

I'm building a new home and in the contract we upgraded the AC to be a 14 SEER variable speed/humidity controlled system. The contract doesn't specify any model numbers.

The buidler has installed the system, but it states that is a 13 Seer unit and I haven't been able to determine if it is variable speed unit.

The downstairs system model #'s are:
    Carrier FB4CNF018
    Carrier 25HBC318A300

The upstairs system model #'s are:
    Carrier FB4CNF024
    Carrier 25HBC324A300

Is there any way this combination of units would rate as 14 Seer?

Would these units be considered a variable speed/humidity controlled system?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The 018 will get 14 seer with a TXV. AHRI #3698297

The 024 will get 13.20 seer (at best) with a TXV. AHRI #3698460

Thanks for the quick replies! I searched for AHRI #3698460 but didn't find it. I'll be sure to ask for the AHRI sheet after they replace the units to meet what is in the contract.

    Thanks again!

My mistakes: the correct # is 3698450. Still only 13.20 seer.

Would it not be better to ask before they are replaced?
